Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 Day 3

The Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 Day 3 commenced with Aiman’s crisp structured shirts and blazers and fluid skirts and trousers called ‘Re-make’. The details follow:

‘Re-make’ – Aiman
The heart embroidery and Venus fly traps on white shirts results in the most classy and happening formals you can think of. Colors like reds, blues and greens dominated the collection. The pictorials on the outfits were very refreshing and stood out in the male attires.

Anita Dongre unfolded a whirlpool of emotions weaved by tradition and grace with her Spring Summer 2016 collection- Love Notes.

Heralding the arrival of summer, avant-garde designer Anita Dongre, captures the poignant emotion of love told through the musings of a young woman who is exploring the changes her lover is likely to bring into her life.

The show transported the audience to a world of fantasy with the entrancing aura of carmine pink and cyan green foliage. Bougainvillea stems rose up to the sky exuding soft sophistication infused with flair. Personifying the opulence and magnificence of the land of royalty- Rajasthan, the stage reflected the grandeur of an imperial Rajasthani palace. Industry stalwarts including Swara Bhaskar, Mini Mathur, Meera Rajput, Isha Koppikar, Timmy Narang, Sanjay Suri, Poonam Sinha, Sangeeta Bijlani, Maria Goretti  and Tannishtha Chatterjee  extended their support to the designer.

The ramp was illuminated with the vivacious hues of hot pinks, sage green and candy yellow and featuring the designer’s signature gota-patti and resham embroidery. Each ensemble tells its own quiet love story capturing this poignant emotion in ethereal tales.

The audience were left mesmerized as Sonakshi Sinha walked down the runway playing the perfect muse, portraying a young princess full of emotions, passion and grace.

 

Ajay Kumar

In continuation with the last season, Ajay Kumar extended the ‘paradox of lotus sutra’ collection. Lotus was the core element in the prints, the floro-geometric prints with bright patterns looked amazing on blazers, trousers and tunic shirts.

 

SVA

The culture of Morocco and the famed Hasan II mosque in Casablanca inspired the  SVA collection.  The designers Sonam and Paras Modi showcased lehengas, crop tops and jackets with historic tiles and minarets translated into prints. Orange and pink colors enhanced the beauty of the collection.

The amalgamation of Bandhani and Kutch embroidery in the ‘Ahir’ collection by Vrisa was fabulous.  The colours red, blues and bright green with pastel whites and creams are just perfect for a fun wardrobe.

Vegetable dye prints and traditional concepts matched with contemporary cuts on the bridal wear were simply spectacular. The collection is inspired by ‘Sita’ with a contemporary brush – “Siaa”. “Siaa” is every woman who wants to welcome the new trends but mixes them with the old ones.

 

Verandah

The floral prints on maxis, bomber jackets and countryside dresses was just out of the world. The denim bralets, pleated fisherman pants and luxe pantsuits were also breath taking. The Verandah by Anjali Patel Mehta was obviously stunning.

Colour blocking and waterproof fabrics paired were the highlight of Dhruv Kapoor’s resort special. Leather belts

Nikhil Thampi

Nikhil Thampi’s collection detoured from the anti-fit trend to form-fitted attires. The trousers, paneled skirts and blazers with braided hair looked were inspiring. Definitely a must have for your wardrobe.
