The Grand Hyatt Hotel, Goa – Miss Bloggess Review

Overlooking the sparkling waters of the Bambolim Bay in Goa, is an Indo- Portuguese style palace that is now iconic as the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Goa, one of the best luxury hotels in the state. With lawns that stretch till the beach and 28 acres of space, this edition of the Grand Hyatt has been the most relaxing one yet.

Perfect for beach honeymoon, family trips and business conferences, this luxury hotel is also a dream venue for fairytale weddings, with the lush tropical gardens setting a perfect scene for a fancy affair. With sea facing rooms and a view which will make you sit there for hours, looking at the waves crashing on the shore and the greenery all around you in the hotel.

One of the things that we liked best about the Grand Hyatt Goa is that it is a perfect blend of the old and the new. The 17th century Indo-Portuguese style building is a fascinating place to experience the charms of old Goa, while you’re never losing sight of the modern with the contemporary interiors and amenities.

A stay at The Grand Hyatt will leave you pampered with the amenities they provide. The Grand Hyatt Goa has two pools for you to relax in, one indoor and one outdoor. Their, waterfront spa with hot tubs, Shamana Spa is the perfect place to be if you need some extra pampering. They also have a well-equipped fitness centre so you don’t miss out on your exercise when you are travelling. It is also child-friendly with Camp Hyatt, a special service to make your family vacations with your kids a memorable one.

Food at the Grand Hyatt is a great experience, with two fantastic restaurants serving Australian and Indian cuisine. We also really liked that they had an all day dining option serving 5 cuisines – Asian, Indian, Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine, all prepared à la minute. The hotel also has two bars, one at the pool and the other one at the lounge. That’s not it, there is also a luxurious cake and pastry shop called Confeitaria for all your snacking needs.

But I had a horrid experience with their Room Service as they didn’t deliver a cake in our room at 12 midnight. It was my birthday and my husband ordered it over the phone as he wanted to surprise me. But he was appalled by the behaviour of the hotel staff. They asked him to visit the bakery at midnight to make the payment first, he even requested that he will make the payment in the room when they deliver the cake as it’s a surprise for me but no luck. Instead of an offering a complimentary cake which most hotels would do in the first place, the shrewd staff at the Grand Hyatt hotel denied delivering the cake without paying for it upfront.

So Service of the hotel gets a Minus mark from me and it is not only from this 1 incident, we experienced it every time we did in room dining. There is a major lag in their service.

The Grand Hyatt Goa is conveniently 7 km away from the capital of Goa, Panaji and well within reach of the Dabolim Airport, at 25 km that’s a plus point for any hotel.

The hotel should definitely improve on their services and train their staff to be more understanding to different situations. All in all, we will give The Grand Hyatt Goa 4/5.

Apart from that The Grand Hyatt in Goa is the perfect place for you if you’re planning a luxurious trip to Goa because of their wide variety of amenities and a location to blow your mind. With all of their facilities designed to make you fall in love with Goa all over again.
