Best Beachside Resorts in India for a Quick Getaway:

May is coming to an end, the temperature is on a rise and we’re all prepping ourselves for another grand Indian summer. Which means, if you’ve been dreaming of a beach vacation, it’s now or never (actually till October, before you can consider taking a beach trip again, without the threat of baking yourself).  Here’s a list of some of the best beachside resorts in India (there are too many to choose from) that will get you hunting for your swimsuits and suitcases:

The Leela Kempinski, Kovalam:

Just some kilometres off Thiruvananthapuram, Kovalam is a lovely little coastal town on the Arabian Sea that is dotted with pretty beaches and cosy resorts, one of which is The Leela Kempinski. A luxurious resort located on a cliff, the best part about this resort is its private beach which offers you a panoramic view of the ocean with breathtaking sunset views. It’s just the perfect place for honeymooners. And old lovers too.

The Barefoot at Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands:

Situated in the tropical forests of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, this resort is in the list of popular beaches. What’s charming about this place is the tents and villas that you get to stay in, which offer a very rustic and back-to-nature experience that will leave you rejuvenated for sure. There’s also a one of a kind scuba diving facility that lets you explore underwater. Perfect for the adventurous kind.

The Radisson Blu Temple Bay Beach Resort, Mahabalipuram:

Set against gorgeous palm trees and lovely blue lagoons, the Radisson Blue in Mahabalipuram is another wonderful destination for your beachside treat. Like all the others in this list, what shines best is its excellent location with access to pristine beaches and added to that, the charm of a tropical landscape, which is sure to refresh you.

Vivanta by Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai:

Overlooking the beautiful Bay of Bengal, this charming resort is built on what used to be a Dutch fort. What it is now is a luxurious beach resort with villas and cottages to stay in, a watchtower dining area and a semi-private beach and luxurious spa experiences. Just the perfect kind of combination for a relaxing getaway with your special someone. It’s also quite perfect for the entire family.

Taj Exotica, Goa:

Of course, we can’t complete the list without including Goa, India’s best-known beach destination. The Taj Exotica in South West Goa is Goa like you’ve never seen before. Known for its serene private beach, this Mediterranean-style luxury beach resort is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, away from the usual bustle of Goa. A must visit if you’re looking for a quiet spot but still want to spend your weekend in the state.
