Frequent flyers with Emirates will know very well that this is one company which likes to do things right and we’ve got some news on that end. Emirates just announced that it is set to add more enhancements and features to its well-loved fleet of A380s and Boeing 737s in 2017. These cabin enhancements include new additions to their one of a kind on-board lounge in their flagship Airbus A380 aircrafts, which is a passenger favourite. Emirates onboard lounge has undergone subtle improvements here and there, but has never been revamped on this scale since its launch in 2008. But it is one of the best loved features in the A380 and one of the best aircraft lounges in the world.
The purpose of these enhancements, especially with the on-board lounge is to mostly increase passenger comfort and to make their in-flight socializing experience better, especially for those long flights. The airlines has taken inspiration from private yachts and other luxury lounge-rooms in order to provide the best sort of comfort and entertainment for their passengers. They also want to make the lounge experience more intimate for their passengers.
The new lounge retains the horseshoe bar setting that is the signature look of Emirates’ A380, but this time with a larger seating capacity of 8 people and an overall capacity of 26 people. It will also now have WiFi, a flatscreen TV for sports and new updates etc. It will also look a lot more spacious with a window added to the interiors. Other interesting features include a sound-proof curtain, surround sound system, ambient lighting and a bar menu filled with delectable light eats and fine international spirits. The colour of the lounge is also going to change to a classy champagne with wood trims for that luxurious feel.
This upgradation project is going to set Emirates back by a few million dollars and is going to debut by July 2017.
We’re sure with these additions, our Emirates experience will be even greater because like we said earlier, Emirates always does things right. It is after all, the world’s favourite airlines for a reason.
