The phone for the #PerfectSelfie Vivo V5
Vivo, the smartphone maker of late has been gaining a lot of popularity in the Indian market and has just released another phone in the mid-range level. The newly launched smartphone, Vivo V5 is priced at Rs.17,980, the phone is pretty to look at, with a few features that differentiate it from the other contenders in the mid range level. This category of mobile phones is particularly hard to break into, because of the high competition and the drive to cut costs and yet remain impressive with the latest technology, design and special features.
The Vivo V 5 comes in two colours, Space Grey and Crown Gold and has a beautiful sleek metal body which is solid to the touch but surprisingly, very light. It is considerably one of the lightest phones in its class.
It has a display of 5.5 inches but because it is thinner than most phones, it remains light and delicate. Its UI, which is FunTouch OS 2.6, runs on Android Marshmallow and has some additional features over stock Android.
The glory of this phone though, lies in its 20 MP front camera, making it the latest phone to join the ‘selfie phone’ brigade, and a worthy competitor to the Gionee S6 and the Oppo F1S. What distinguishes the V5 it from the others in its class is its front flash called the ‘moonlight glow’. This feature casts a very subtle light on your face when you are taking a selfie which results in very flattering photographs, unlike the glare of the normal flash. It also comes with the Face Beauty 6.0 mode with the help of which you probably will never delete a selfie again. Even though its selfie camera outshines its front 13 MP camera, the primary camera is not bad. It can capture your moments really well.
Technology wise, the Vivo V5 comes pretty well endowed, with a 4 GB RAM, a 3000 mAh battery and 32 GB expandable storage space. Another interesting feature of this phone is that it aims to aid in multitasking really well. It has a split screen feature which enables you to work on two apps at once, with minimum difficulty. And since it is build for that, the phone does not lag when it is put under pressure.
What the phone does really well, for its slim design and build quality, is handle heat. There is minimal overheating even if you’ve been working on the device for a while. Another feature that has been done pretty well are the speakers.
For under 18K, the phone does have a really good front camera and pretty decent sound and battery life as well. So if you’re looking for a selfie phone with possibility for maximum use of social media and entertainment, it probably works best for you.
