Huawei P9 – The Vogue Review

Huawei a global leader and a renowned smartphone maker has done it again, In 2015, it was the Nexus 6P and this year it’s the Huawei P9. The P9 is a huge step forward in Mobile Photography thanks to Huawei’s partnership with iconic camera brand Leica.

Hence, the most talked about feature of this phone is it’s one of a kind dual-lens 16 MP camera, which could potentially change the future of mobile photography forever. It’s got the Leica cameras which yield really good photographs, with colours that pop on your screen and really less noise.

But what we are really going to talk about is its design. Huawei P9 is easily one of the prettiest phones in the market right now, with its aluminium unibody, almost zero bezel space, its 6.95 mm thickness (thinness rather), and it’s sleek, compact build. The overall look is reminiscent of the iPhone 6, but this phone could even be slightly better than its possible lookalikes, because of its finishing. All its edges are smoothed off, even the ones at the charging port, so the phone has almost no sharp edges at all (say goodbye to chafed fingers from texting on a sharp-edged phone!). And the makers have managed to fit two cameras in the back without any extra protrusions and added a slight depression for the fingerprint sensor, making the Huawei P9 an ergonomical marvel. Its weight is just right too at 144 gms; heavy enough for it to not feel like you are holding paper in your hands while still light enough for texting all day without cramping your fingers.

We’re totally vouching for the style quotient of this one, because it is a joy to actually behold. And be seen with. Available in three colours, gold, silver and grey (more of a black actually), this phone looks classy and sleek, with just the bit of bling to give it a bit of a royal, luxurious touch. And you’re spending only about Rs. 39,999 on this, which for a flagship phone, is not much. It’s hard to get creative with design in the smartphone world right now, so there’s nothing really new to see here, but the neatness is what counts and the P9 nails it.

Performance wise, it packs a good deal too, with a battery of 3000 mah, and it runs the latest version of Android, Marshmallow.

Finally we have a phone that is loved by photographers and fashionistas like me!
