The TPot Cafe – Review
If on a lazy afternoon you’re around Malviya Nagar and you are looking for a cosy place for a snack or a chill place to have your afternoon tea with a long lost buddy, you should check out TPOT Café, that’s located on Shivalik Road.
As you will probably figure out from the name of this place, it is dedicated to the quintessential Indian favourite- Chai. And the conversations that the chai-drinking ceremony always fuels. Which is evident from their tagline – A fresh cup of conversation- and the quotes on tea drinking, which decorate the earthy coloured walls of this café.
The best part is, chilling at this place would not hurt your pocket. With the variety of things that are on their menu, which range from breakfast to dinner, from Italian pizzas and pastas, to Indian street favourites like vada pav, from sandwiches and burgers to Thai curries. Which means, it is college-kid friendly (they even have board games). Their specialty, the chai menu is quite extensive too – from the well known desi style chai to more exotic herbal teas like hibiscus and chamomile. It even has a bunch of options for the non-tea people like coffees, smoothies and mocktails, so it’s friendly to all sorts of grown-ups too. The best part about this café is that it has a lot of options to offer everyone, which makes it the go-to place if you’re out with a bunch of friends who just can’t seem to decide what they want to eat. I’d also say that the kullars that they serve some of their teas in, add a lot of charm of the place, not to mention to the taste of the tea and the kind of weather we have in Delhi right now. What else do we want on a rainy day, just a good cup of Chai!
So if you’re headed to TPOT for a quick snacker, just like we did. You should really try their fancy beverages. Or if you’d rather settle for your kullar of masala chai, that’s highly recommended also. Grab a plate of nachos (also highly recommended), keema pao, rolls or order a pizza (their farmhouse pizzas are nice!) to munch along. And in case you find yourself chilling there till dinnertime, chill. You can always dine Thai.
