Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 Day 2

The Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 Day 2, was truly a visual treat for our eyes. The day commenced with P.E.L.L.A and it sure was a visual treat. Post that the day was packed with delightful collections and the details follow:

P.E.L.L.A

P.E.L.L.A. draws its inspiration from the idea of transcending the mind. Their radically new summer collection is transcendental for sure, it leaves the real world far behind. The ramp was a blend of light-weight hand woven pure Eri, Tassar, Ahimsa silks, Cashmere and Pashmina in warm beige hues.

Swati Vijaivargie:

Swati Vijaivargie’s collection was quite a contrast to P.E.L.L.A, her collection was an explosion of colors. Her collection would definitely compete for the top spot! Swati vijaivargie collection for this LFW 2016 Summer resort is ‘Bagh’, representing a garden. The models were wearing vibrant colors with many different shades of red, blue, and hues of yellow. As the name “Bagh” suggests the prints were filled with naturalistic images and pleasant wavy stripes and contemporary patterns.

Paromita Banerjee:
Paromita Banerjee’s collection is something that probably most women would be eagerly awaiting this season. The collection almost resembled the relationship between the earth and sea with its line up alternating between shades of blue, indigo and browns.

The collection was an interesting twist on shirts, long pants, jackets and tops. The look was a unique blend of retro and contemporary. The collection is quite practical and versatile it is something that would feel at home at a Sunday brunch as well as a board room meeting.

Gaurang:

Gaurang’s collection titled “Calico”, is reminiscent of 11th century colors, motifs and weaves. Gaurang is really well known for his lehengas and sarees but for this collection he came out of his comfort zone and tried his hand at gowns and evening wears and boy are we glad he did. The gowns are approximately made of 28 meters of fabric. Which obviously is quite a challenging task. The gowns and evening wear draw their inspiration from the rich and vibrant history of Indian craftsmanship. Besides the astounding show by Shah, visibly pregnant Carol Gracias walked the ramp for him. It was a first in the history of Lakme Fashion Week and Carol’s confidence and radiance on the ramp busted all the stereotypes defiantly.
