The Groghead – Review
Every day a new restaurant opens in Delhi but what makes that restaurant busy and successful is it’s look and feel. A recent new restaurant that I’ve been to lately was The Groghead, it’s vibrant, attractive and a cool place to chill with friends and family. The place has a huge spacious indoor space which can be used for corporate & no corporate events. It is connected to a beautiful terrace, which also has a huge bar. The place is for all age groups who are looking for a great dining and drinking experience.
Grog is an Australian slang for booze. The Groghead is a place for drink lovers. Sandeep Sehrawat, Anuj Sehrawat and Vivek Malik are the seeders and feeders of the idea called The Groghead.
The indoor space has a bar on the side and a stage at the end for live musical gigs. The interior of the place has all dim light big bulbs, which goes very well with the décor of the place. It’s un-cluttered to accommodate large crowds on event nights.
The terrace is very beautifully done with a dedicated live bar on one side and a live wood-fired pizza kitchen right opposite to it. On a cold winter night each table is accompanied by a brazier, to keep you warm and comfortable.
Talking about the food, the F&B menu has been designed by Chef Arun Chanda. I would definitely mention few dishes and drinks that got my attention – Gin and Tonic Chicken, its chicken leg on skin marinated with Gin, Tonic, lemon juice, basil and herbs. Salmon Khan, Grilled Salmon Steak served on a bed of Vodka injected seared watermelon.
Rum & Cola Lamb Shank, braised lamb shank with rum and cola glaze. Balls of Fury, Jack Daniel’s lamb meat balls. Cottage on Fire, cottage cheese roulade.
The beverage menu is equally impressive with attractive drinks like Naughty Babaji (Spiced rum, muddled mint, lemon chunks, honey, babaji bitters, essence of bishop’s weed, pakhandi ke goti), Paan-Tini (Betel leaf infused vodka, TG bitters, peppermint rose rim) The Vamp Diaries (Rose Wine, Rose infused vodka, apple juice, red pepper, pink pepper corn, mint, maraschino cherry), BMW (Baileys, Malibu, Whisky), Bar-gasm (Baileys, Amaretto, Kahlua, whipped cream) and there were so many more.
Here’s my take on dining at The Groghead:
Décor and Ambiance: 8
Menu Design: 8
Menu Variety: 7
Service: 9
Wait Time: 7
Food: 9
Value for Money: 8
Overall Dining Experience: 8/10
It’s a recommendable place for dinning with friends and family, if you happen to be in Green Park or one should even plan a get together at this not too crowded place. Visit The Groghead once and let me know if I’ve missed on something.
