In the heart of Delhi, a café which gives you a British vintage industrial feel while looking at the national flag soaring high in the sky from the terrace. Yes, you are in the Vault Café. Its vintage ambiance gives it an interesting look of a vault (storehouse) of British East India Company, which gels well with the music and creates an energetic feel.
I’ve been to this place couple of times but this time it happened to be a weekend and it was fully packed. It’s a major hub for youngsters in the evenings and especially over the weekends and one of the most happening café’s in Delhi as it’s centrally located. You don’t need to worry about the parking, the valet charges you 100 bucks which gets discounted in your bill if you present the voucher at the time of billing unlike the fuss in Hauz Khas Village.
CP has no other place like Vault Café, what makes it more unique is its private vaults. There are 5 vaults which have a different interior in each. If you are with a large group, you can definitely opt for the private vault. For people like us who are mostly out for lunch or dinner and love to enjoy great ambience, drinks and food this can definitely be regular choice.
The menu has everything suiting every palate, including street food. We started with the drinks first, we ordered Vault No 1857, the vodka tasted great with cardamom, vanilla syrup, pineapple juice, lime juice with vanilla air on top. It was smooth, each flavour was blending well with each other. We also ordered the traditional Cosmopolitan for the love of vodka, it even looks pretty to hold! 😉
In the starters we started with Chicken Winglets with Candid Lemons, it was served with black olives, coriander, cauliflower salad and hummus spread beneath the chicken.
Next came in Vault Special Chicken Dumplings, which were my favourite. It had a very thin outer cover with minced chicken and bell pepper. It just melts in the mouth, so delicious and tender.
Also we had Basil Chicken and Cheese Bruschetta.
In the main course we ordered Shredded Lamb in Sriracha Sauce, served with fried rice. It was lamb shreds cooked in Chinese style hot sauce. The style of serving in a pan, was nice and eye catchy.
Also we had The Vault Special Five Spice Grilled Chicken Breast, it was tender grilled chicken breast served with saffron rice and Lebanese spiced veggies. The taste was nice, mild and creamy but a little dry to have it with rice.
We wrapped up the evening with a Chocolate Cake. It was smooth and melting in mouth.

It’s a must go place when with friends or even with family. The ambience is one in its class. The best part was the twitter wall, you can see your tweet on the screen as you do it.
As we went on a weekend, there was waiting but still there was no lag in the service. The staff was courteous and even helped us in placing the order.
Do share with us your thoughts about The Vault Café if you have been there and for those who haven’t it’s my recommendation to give it a visit.
